3/28/2024 0 Comments 1997 monark pro 1702007 or so the oil injection failed again but didn't blow up. Good motor but it blew up when the oil injection failed merc supplied a new block I paid the labor. Then in 96' we got a 1600 Monark SC and moved the 35 to the brand new boat. Talked dad into getting a 80s model Bluefin with a 35 johnson somewhere in the early 90s I am guessing this will be my last vessel I will ever have.īack in the late 80s dad got a 14' fiberglass whatever v boat with a 5HP Johnson Seahorse from the 60s maybe? Lots more room with it being 17'-11" and has a huge 99" beam. This is my first boat that has a walk thru windshield and it's lived up to every thing I hoped for. I hope who ever has it now appreciates the care I took in that boat.Ĥth boat is my new 2015 Polar Kraft 179 WT Frontier powered by a 90 HO E-TEC. This was my first NEW boat ever and served me VERY WELL for 30 years. Looked real great when it was all done and it served me quite well for about 4-5 years.ģrd boat was a 16'-4" 1985 Grumman side console that had a 84" beam and a Johnson 50 hp VRO outboard. I completely remodel it with carpeting, swivel seats and repainted the 50 hp Mercury. I originally powered it with a 7.5 hp Merc but quickly purchased a new 25 hp Johnson.Ģnd boat was a 16 foot Starcraft that was on the shallow side and was a bit narrow in the beam. I tried everything to stop the leaks but after 3-4 years I gave up and sold it to guy that only wanted the trailer. This boat was made of HEAVY aluminum and leaked like a pig. 1st boat was a "Lone Star" that was 16+ foot long and had a wide beam but I really don't know what it was.

3/28/2024 0 Comments Survival craft zombie gamesStrange Brigade comes in at number 6 on our list, a game set in the 1930s when a long forgotten ancient witch queen rises from her tomb in Egypt, along with her obedient zombie monsters to try and take over the world. Save bullets and slaughter the undead with an axe in Scum 6: Strange Brigade (2018) In true survival fashion, wetness, medicine, cooking, hacking, crafting and hunting all play a major role in the game, giving us one of the most realistic and modernized zombie survival games of recent years. The combat aspect depends on the player's skill level, but is also affected by the BCU monitor. These help players to create an avatar which falls in line with their specific playing style. The game provides four interesting attributes including, strength, dexterity, constitution and intelligence. The human aspect feels realistic as your calories, health and other stats are tracked through a BCU monitor in game. You’ll need to hunt the world for supplies and medicine, all while trying to stop other survivors from taking your gathered belongings. Next on our list we have the well received Scum, a game centered around a prison break in a post apocalyptic world, where some would suggest staying inside the prison, as mutated monsters and zombies await all those who venture too far. This adds a nice level of awareness to the game, one which keeps players entertained for hours on end.Ī dog is a mans best friend, especially when there are no men left. The game has no checkpoints or saves, so when you eventually succumb to the zombies, you must start from scratch. Its huge open map offers a variety of beautiful landscapes as well as landmarks based on historical locations. The game is a complex and authentic survival game, offering the player the ability to hunt, craft, and build, all while trying to manage health preservation. Here survivors themselves double cross each other just to stay alive. In the game you are tasked with surviving in the post soviet republic of Chernarus, a place where a virus has infected a large portion of the population. Number 9 on our list, DayZ, originally started out as a mod for ARMA2, that became so popular with fans it received its own game, a game which has but one rule in essence, stay alive no matter what you have to do. Hundreds of weapons are ready to be crafted and used in your zombie slaying arsenal.Ī Zombie hoard fit for a King Slayer 12: Project Zomboid (2013) The weapon crafting is some of the best we have ever seen in a zombie survival game, receiving an extreme upgrade in quality from Dead Rising 2. Drive through these hoards with ease as you try to escape before the military blows the entire city to smithereens. This was done to show off the potential power of the next gen consoles. The gameplay is intense, yet very fun, as huge hordes of zombies can take over your screen at any one time. You're welcomed to Los Perdidos, 10 years after the events of Fortune city, and you're let loose in one of the best open world zombie maps of recent years, full of stunning views permitted by the next gen graphics. When Dead Rising 3 was created, it showed us how zombie games could evolve on the next generation systems, and it did a fairly good job bringing in the new age of zombie slaying. Not to be missed if you enjoy the original zombie survivor games.īears got your back in Dead Rising 2 14: Unturned (2014) The game is full of endless fun, as you craft together items such as boxing gloves and knives to turn yourself into a modern day Freddie Krueger. Chuck Greene, a former motocross champion, was in the city when an outbreak occurred and he must battle through a multitude of zombies and weird bosses, all while trying to secure medicine for his infected daughter. It's set in a Las Vegas resort known as Fortune City. Sure there have been better games since its release, but it will forever stand as one of the greatest of its time. This game is certainly nostalgic, and the franchise set the bar high for the semi open world of zombie slaying to become the next great genre of games. At number 15 is the memorable Dead Rising 2, a sequel which brought us back into the early days of crafting everyday items into weapons fit to slaughter mountains of zombies at once. 3/28/2024 0 Comments Garmin quickdraw uploadsThe post How to Download Bathymetric Charts from Quickdraw Community appeared first on Garmin Blog. Here are step-by-step instructions on how to download publicly shared Quickdraw Contours maps:īefore beginning, be sure to download the latest software for your Garmin marine device. You'd do the same with the saved Lowrance sounding logs afterwards - the same ways but online.Īs I said - a pain for both - but can be done.Downloading new bathymetric charts from Quickdraw Community on Garmin Connect is a breeze. in the field - using Garmin - you will need to print-off a tide chart and manually change the offset ev 5-20minutes. In other words - use a tide graph as your lake offset. The reson: the tide only changes so much during the shorter time frames and you want to match the offset to the current time. With both units - I would recommend saving using shorter time frames (5-10minutes around mid tides, and 15-20 around the highs/lows) - before changing the offsets and/or restarting the logging of the sounding transects. or its subsidiaries (collectively, 'Garmin') or licensors. On the Garmin you set it on the unit as you go - with the Lowrance you apply it afterwards on short time segments when saved as sonar logs & uploaded afterwards. The Quickdraw Upload application (the 'Application') and the content and data ('Data') included in the Application are owned by Garmin Ltd. With Garmin & Lowrance you can set offests (originally designed to deal with fluctuating lake levels). When they get the bugs worked out of panoptix for the saltwater angler, it will be Garmin for the win,Ĭlick to expand. Both Garmin & Lowrance's mapping are pains in the you-know when it comes to tides, IMHO MAtt. It was a factor in my Garmin choice too, and I'm glad I have it. Uploading your personal maps of secret ling holes to the public community in the cloud just seems funny to me, so needless to say my stuff isn't up there. Also best to do your mapping when swell is low and wind waves are not hostile. You'd want to map a contiguous structure all in one episode, as tidal height differences would introduce some weird artifacts if you mapped places at different tidal heights. There is a learning curve to data entry on it. FWIW I think it is a tool mainly for bottom fishing habitat (lings esp) in my hands. While it probably isn't directly responsible for putting any more meat in my freezer, I do think it's helpful if you're a map detail guy, or just interested in over-thinking it on occasion. It's actually pretty kickass, and can really add some granular detail to complex bottom structure. I've used it to map out some interesting reefs that I fish, where the detail is lacking on conventionally available charts (garmin's base map, navionics, noaa, etc). I've been playing around with QuickDraw for a couple years on my 7612xsv. 3/28/2024 0 Comments House designers near meEven within their fields, backyard designers near me may specialize in hardscape- or vegetation-focused designs. They might or might not have advanced training. Local landscape designers, also known as landscape planners, typically specialize in the aesthetic and horticultural, rather than structural, side of yard and garden planning. Landscape architecture firms typically hire individuals who hold advanced degrees in their field and are trained to develop comprehensive structural plans that include plants, hardscaping, water use, drainage and more. Before you hire a professional landscaper, consider the scope and emphasis of your outdoor project. Others - typically following a design-build approach - take care of both the design and all aspects of the landscape architecture and construction. Certain landscape designing services only help with the planning portion, while some may deliver the plans and then oversee a hired landscaping contractor. In addition, a landscaper will carefully assess your geographic region to choose plants, trees and flowers that will flourish naturally, as well as address concerns such as drainage, screening and soil conditions. Keeping in mind both style and functionality, garden designers analyze your architecture and yard to produce a professional landscape design plan that may or may not include location and materials for walkways, patios, water features, fences, garden aspects and more. What does a landscape designer do? A landscaping designer generally will have ecological, aesthetic and technical training, which helps them maximize the potential of your outdoor space. Three-dimensional renderings and illustrative plans are all supplementary. Like building architects, they will produce preliminary concept drawings as well as detailed construction documents and planting plans. An engineer can also be responsible for these tasks, but licensed landscapers are fully capable. This includes any drainage modifications. Any grading changes that will be added to the yard are also the responsibility of the architect. Landscape architects near me will also design any structures or outbuildings that will be added to the space. From there the landscaper will develop preliminary concepts for your front or backyard design based on individual needs including the climate and activities that will take place, as well as layouts and planting plans. A landscaping architect can even work with the home architect to choose the right spot for your house. What does a landscape architect do? The work of this outdoor professional includes most everything surrounding a home's exterior. Start here to learn more about the landscaping design services that will help create your dream garden. Landscape architecture is very regional, so look for a landscape designer near me that’s familiar with the local climate and plant types that do well there. 3/24/2024 0 Comments English spelling alphabet papaAfter the adoption of the ICAO alphabet, the signal was rendered as “Bravo Zulu” – and in some circles, it has entered popular parlance as an alternative way of congratulating someone.Breakdowns in communication are a tale as old as biblical time. It is the last “administrative” naval signal, usually conveyed either through flags or voice radio, and was given the designation “BZ”. The term originates from the Allied Naval Signal Book, an international naval signal code adopted after Nato was created in 1949, according to the National Museum of the US Navy. You may have heard – either on television or in real life – an enthusiastic “Bravo Zulu” given to someone in place of a “well done”. This is true in the police force, where they have established their own police alphabet, in the financial sector, where banks and traders often use the alphabet for large transactions done over the phone, and in commercial airline communication as well. These words and expressions “are also used outside the military, in areas of civilian life where it is also especially critical to ensure accurate and correct expression and understanding of words” said trivia site Sporcle. Over time it has, though, developed its own form of shorthand or slang, whereby certain combinations of the alphabet’s words have pre-established and inherent meaning.įor example, the expression “Oscar-Mike” means “on the move” and is used to denote a military unit, which is moving between positions. Consequently, after further study and testing among the 31 ICAO member countries, the current alphabet was officially introduced on the 1 March 1956, with just five simple changes to Jean-Paul Vinay’s earlier work – the words for the letters C, M, N, U and X.Īdopted worldwide, those changes have remained in place ever since and are still in use. That new alphabet hit a spot of turbulence, though, as many pilots disliked it and reverted to the one they had been using previously. Jean-Paul Vinay of the University of Montreal, a noted professor of linguistics, was charged with creating a new alphabet equivalency list and completed it in 1951. This also came to be used in civil aviation, but confusion continued, not least by the use of a separate English alphabet in South America.Īs an agency of the United Nations, it made sense for the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to create a standardised alphabet, one which – even if made of English words – had sounds common to all languages and so could be spoken and pronounced internationally no matter what nationality the pilot. The RAF developed an alphabet based on both of these but when the US Air Force joined the war, all Allied Forces adopted what became known as the Able, Baker alphabet. Radio communications have moved on in terms of technical sophistication since then, but the alphabet is still in place in case of confusion, error or bad reception to make sure the correct message is transmitted, received and understood.ĭuring the First World War, the Royal Navy used an alphabet that began Apples, Butter and Charlie, while British infantrymen in the trenches had their own version, which started Ack, Beer and Charlie. While not technically a phonetic alphabet (which helps individuals in the pronunciations of words), the Nato alphabet meant differences in accents, languages and pronunciations stopped being a problem. The couple discovered the neglected lot, which was the former site of a Boy Scout camp, when they spotted a for-sale sign while kayaking. “Of course, it wasn’t exactly how I imagined it, but the orientation is the same.” The 150 feet of lake frontage presented many opportunities and challenges for the Perssons, who were committed to developing the land-home to beavers, bobcats, and bald eagles-in an environmentally sensitive way. “I held up the game and said, ‘Can we build one of these?’ And Ryan took the challenge,” Michael says. He knew precisely how to replicate the terrain of their newly acquired lakefront lot near Redmond, Washington, to design a basic blueprint for a home that took full advantage of the site, which is a promontory with water views on three sides. It’s no coincidence that at the time Michael was a top creative executive for the Microsoft-owned game. The open staircase at the center of the home does not obstruct the sightline from the front of the home to the lake. It was a unique way of expressing their thoughts.” Because the house sits well above the shoreline, the Perssons maintain their privacy-despite the floor-to-ceiling windows. “And I’d never had someone come to me with a computer model of any kind. “At the time, I didn’t even know what Minecraft was,” Stephenson says. But the Minecraft model that his clients Michael and Siobhán Persson presented him, with a dream house designed in the game’s blocky 3-D style, was a first. They’ve arrived with sketches, tear sheets from magazines, or Pinterest pages. Architect Ryan Stephenson has had clients come to him with plenty of dream-house visual aids. |
